About Me

My name is Fernando Saldivia Yáñez (b.1997). I am a filmmaker currently based between Puerto Williams, Chile, and Chicago, United States.

My practice explores the politics and poetics of the quotidian through an intimate observational style.

 

My work has been screened at multiple festivals and venues including the Ann Arbor Film Festival, Prismatic Ground, Seattle International Film Festival, Chicago International Film Festival, Beijing International Short Film Festival, the Santiago International Film Festival, and the Chilean Museum of Pre-Columbian Art.

My latest feature film, Brief Space of a Time, was recently awarded the Audience Award at the 62 Ann Arbor Film Festival.
